Engraved cast brass casket, probably from Northern India. Of rectangular form on four corner feet, with a hinged coffered lid and handle, and a pair of latches. The body and lid feature various engraved floral and bird motifs. The form borrows from early Islamic casket designs.

Marks: Apparently unmarked.

Condition: Rubbed and polished. Traces of polish.
