A small casket for holding precious objects such as jewels or valuable objects. Featuring brass strapwork with rosette brass tacks, fabric covering and parchment or paper lining. The brass hardware has traces of gilding on the front panel of the casket. The body of the casket is wood. Closes and locks with an iron hasp and functional padlock. The associated padlock with original key c. 1700.
